You know that I would have loooved to send you a real hand written letter, but since those apparently never get to shores of BelgIEN I thought it was a good idea to send you my birthday wish in a form of a website…. Embracing the modern technology yaiii!
But I thought it would be soothing in these terrible corona times to take a little look back. Because that never hurts 😉
Where to start?
One of the biggest challenges of making this virtual letter was to decide where to start. Because a birthday is a day where we celebrate all the great things about the person getting one year older. And there is so much I have no clue about where to start. Let me first say that I am beyond grateful that I got the chance to meet you. Wow much have happened since that warm evening in late september…

I still remember...
that first day we went into the city together. The weather was amazing. We sat next to each-other on the train on the way to the city. You started talking about Hungarian politics. (I know I have told you this one a thousand times butttt it’s just such a good memory;). And I was like, wow 😮
And the day went by and I was just amazed on how cool u were and outgoing, teasing and funny. And I was like: No no no, this is dangerous. hahah
But such a cool day. So happy that I actually pulled myself together and went with you and the roomies. Still one of the absolute clearest memories I have of New York
Then a lot of things followed
More amazing memories and things we did. I just remember how my feelings for you just started growing even more. Every time I would suggest something you were always there to join. Even when I just mentioned something I thought could be fun and knew no-one would ever join. You were still there actually being excited about it. I mean just take a look at theeeseeee

And thennn
Then we went sailing…. And I just can’t describe to you how happy I felt after that thing. I was just… Yea just.. So happy. I remember how I didn’t know whether this was just something staying on the boat. Then we got off and you took my hand and we walked along the water and then on the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s been a long time since I was this happy… What a memory.
What about that stupid walk?
Yeaaa. We did that. Just proof of how fucking amazing you are. I don’t think we need anymore words to describe that walk because it was just really something special.
And it just continued
It really did. We kept on adding to the long list of amazing memories. And I have enjoyed every single one of them.
You got me
So yea. You totally got me there and I fell 100% for you. Your amazing smile, ur adventureness (that is now a word), your positive mind, your way of always saying yes, your way of being totally indecisive everytime we needed to get lunch or dinner just like me, the way you got amazed by the city just as I did, your love for parks, your willingness to call me an idiot when you disagreed with me, your idealist mind and i could go on forever.Â
Now fuck off corona
As you wrote in your amazing letter I feel exactly the same: I HAVE PLANS. So I really think Corona should move out of our world as we speak. I wanna add to this way to short list of memories. I have a plan of driving around with one hand on the wheel and you in the other. I have a plan of showing you the boat and taking you sailing. I want to take you out canoeing in the amazing streams of Denmark where the trees touch the water and you feel far away from everything. I want to watch all your stupid movies. I want to see all your amazing places. I want to show you my boring little village town. I want to take pictures of your beautiful face. I want to explore stupid hikes and places where we can just sit down and enjoy life. I want to go run with even tho you’ll never give me that joy. I want to walk around with my arm around you. I want to give you long warm hugs whenever i feel for it. SO PLEASE let that happen. Because I know it would be amazing to do all these things with you right next to me.
Let me have some more weeks like Madrid!
I just want to say
that you are indeed an incredibly amazing person Abi. It would be hard to list all the things i find amazing about you. Because there is so many. I love how I can spend a whole day being lazy with you and don’t feel like a minute of it was wasted. I love how our talks can get heated when we debate politics (ur incredibly hot when u do that btw). I love how you laugh. I love ur passion for small things. I just really really enjoy being right there. Right next to you.
It is today your birthday and I just wanna send my warmest wishes your way. Birthdays are days of celebration. And there is sooo much to celebrate about you.
Really wish I was there in person to give you a big birthday hug and a big kiss. But I’ll have to keep those for myself a little longer.
